Rupali Ganguly's first fee was Rs 50: Father became poor after making a film on Dharmendra, sold house, jewellery, belongings, used to walk 15 kilometers

Rupali Ganguly, who is playing the lead role in television's highest TRP show Anupama, does not need any identity today, but there was a time when her family had to face financial crisis. His father was a famous producer of the 70-80s. He suffered a huge loss by investing money in Dharmendra's film, in which his house and belongings were all sold. In such a situation, Rupali's entire family had to live in poverty. In the initial days of her career, due to lack of money, Rupali used to walk 15 kilometers every day to Prithvi Theatre. His first fee was Rs 50.

Recently, in an interview given to Mashable India, Rupali Ganguly talked about her days of struggle. He told that his father Anil Ganguly was a producer. In 1991, he had invested all his savings to make the Dharmendra starrer film Dushman Devta. There was no corporate system in that era, so producers had to raise money themselves to make films.

Rupali Ganguly's father has directed big films like Kora Kagaz, Tapasya and Khandaan.

To make the film Dushman Devta, Rupali's father Anil Ganguly had mortgaged his house and invested all the money in the film. The film flopped badly at the box office, leaving him penniless. Whatever goods and jewelery were left, they also had to be sold due to poverty. Due to ongoing problems at home, his father developed diabetes.

Rupali further told in the interview that in poverty, she used to walk every day from Worli to Prithvi Theatre, which is a distance of 15 kilometers. Anupama did her first play named Atmakatha in Prithvi Theatre. For this he got a fee of Rs 50. This was the first earning of his life.
