Emraan Hashmi said the audience will feel a lot of the characters are based on real-life Bollywood insiders.
A few days ago, Karan Johar unveiled the trailer of his upcoming series, Showtime. Karan Johar is all set to reveal what goes on behind the scenes in Bollywood. Emraan Hashmi is back with another grey character in this web series – a film producer. Emraan recently opened up about the show.
Speaking to ANI, Emraan said, “The trailer gives people an idea of the world we have created of contemporary Bollywood and this web series will reveal a lot about our industry.”
He added, “When you will see the characters of this show, somewhere or the other you will feel like it is based on a real-life actor or a producer or this is an amalgamation of actors. Now on whom is it based in real, you will have to ask the director. They have been in this industry and understood it very closely and have put it in this show in a way.”
Disney+ Hotstar has joined forces with KJO’s Dharmatic Entertainment for their first fictional series together – Showtime. The web series features Emraan Hashmi as a second-generation film producer at odds with a newcomer, played by Mahima Makwana.
The trailer of the web series showcases an angry Emraan Hashmi trying to save face against an outsider newcomer, played by Mahima Makwana. Meanwhile, Rajeev Khandelwal, who plays a superstar in the show, makes him realise that the power in the industry lies in the hands of the ‘star’.
Created by Sumit Roy and Mihir Desai and directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, Showtime will delve into the unseen world that lies behind the camera. It will give audiences a sneak peek into what goes behind the multi-million dollar industry of Bollywood, nepotism and the power struggles at the top.
The multi-starrer web series Showtime is slated to stream from March 8.
