The father had left home for Delhi and returned on the way after hearing the news of his daughter's death.
In Lucknow, 10th class student Joyce Augustin (16) committed suicide by hanging herself due to the stress of getting good marks in the high school examination. The girl's father is the Bishop of St. Mary's School, Para and her mother is the principal of the school. Both were not at home at the time of the incident. The maid informed the family after seeing the dead body hanging.
There was an English exam, the family was worried.
Joyce's father John Angustin told that he lived in Sagar Vihar Colony with his wife Swapna Angustin, daughter Shayra and younger daughter Joyce.
Since the wife was the Principal of St. Mary's School, the entire family lived on the campus. On Tuesday morning, daughter Joyce had gone to her upstairs room saying she was getting ready for school.
But even after a long time she did not come down. The maid went upstairs and saw that the body was hanging from an iron grill.
The daughter was studying from ICSE board. His English preparation exam was on Wednesday. She was worried about the paper, perhaps that is why she took this step.
