Sandeshkhali News LIVE Updates: Amid the ongoing Unrest in West Bengal’s Sandeshkhali, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Wednesday said that it has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports on unabated human rights violations due to violence in the villages of the state’s North 24 Parganas district.
Sandeshkhali has been witnessing unrest for over 10 days now as women protestors seek justice against alleged sexual assault committed by Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sheikh Shahjahan and his aides.
Meanwhile, Shajahan has been absconding since January 5 after a group attached to him attacked the Enforcement Directorate officials, who had gone to the area to search his premises in connection with a ration scam.
