The court has sentenced Inspector Ashish Mishra to 5 years imprisonment after being found guilty of corruption in Gorakhpur. Special Judge Prevention of Corruption Act Praveen Kumar Singh has punished the then sub-inspector of Belghat police station Ashish Mishra with 5 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50 thousand. In case of non-payment of fine, the accused will have to undergo separate imprisonment of 6 months.
He was caught red handed while taking bribe, the prosecution told the court.
