A mason, resident of Jogikot village of Behta Mujawar police station area of Unnao, committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest with a pistol in his room late on Wednesday evening. The police recovered the pistol, took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. SP Siddharth Shankar Meena said that the youth committed suicide by shooting himself. The matter is being investigated.
