Garbage disposal work will be done in 18 months.

The capital's population of 40 lakh will get rid of the mountain of garbage located at Shivri for the next 18 months. The scientific disposal work of about 18.50 lakh metric tonnes of waste piled up at the solid waste processing plant located at Shivri started from Tuesday. The work was inaugurated by Minister of State, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Government of India, Kaushal Kishore and Mayor Sushma Kharkwal. The Minister of State said that after the disposal of garbage, the residents of the area will get relief from water, air and soil pollution.

Municipal Corporation's Additional Municipal Corporation is looking after the entire garbage disposal system.
