South actress Jyothirmayi often sets the internet abuzz. Recently, she sported a salt-and-pepper look and her pictures are now going viral on social media. Some time back, her husband Amal Neerad shared one of her photos unveiling her bald look. Her photo generated a huge buzz among her fan following. For those who don’t know, Jyothirmayi shaved her head completely during the lockdown. The reason behind her decision to shave her head remains unknown.
Sharing the photo, Amal Neerad wrote in the caption, “Tamasoma Jyothirgamaya #Jyothirmayee.” Tamasoma Jyothirgamaya is a Sanskrit verse translating to Lead us from darkness to light.
Jyothirmayi began her journey as a model. She garnered attention with her performance in the Malayalam soap opera, Indraneelam, directed by Suresh Krishnan.
She shot to fame with the release of Meesa Madhavan in 2002 along with actor Dileep. She made her onscreen debut with the Malayalam film Pilots. Some of her films include Housefull, Chacko Randaaman, Bhavam, Kathavasheshan, Idhaya Thirudan, Thalai Nagaram, and Navagatharkku Swagatham.
On the personal front, Jyothirmayi tied the wedding knot to Nishanth Kumar; but the couple parted ways thereafter. She then got married to director-cinematographer Amal Neerad in 2015.
