Gujarat Giants achieved their first win of the season in WPL-2 on Wednesday. The team defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 19 runs. Gujarat Giants won the toss and chose to bat at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The team scored 199 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, RCB could score only 180 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Gujarat's openers Laura Wolwart and Beth Mooney scored half-centuries. Wolwart scored 76 runs and Mooney remained unbeaten on 85 runs. There was also a century partnership between the two.

Mooney-Wolwart batted together for 13 overs
Gujarat Giants openers Laura Wolvaardt and Beth Mooney laid the foundation of a huge score by adding 140 runs in 13 overs.
As Wolvaardt's wicket fell in the 13th over, she was run out after scoring 76 runs. He hit 13 fours in the innings. After being run out, Mooney along with Phoebe Lichfield added 52 runs in just 5.3 overs. Lichfield was out for 18 runs. In the end, Gujarat captain Mooney got trapped at the non-striker end and the team added only seven runs in the last 10 balls.
Ashley Gardner was out after scoring 0 runs, Dayalan Hemlata after scoring 1 run and Veda Krishnamurthy was out after scoring 1 run. Mooney remained unbeaten on 85 runs and Katherine Bryce remained unbeaten on 1 run. Mooney hit 12 fours and one six over midwicket in the innings.
RCB's bowling failed
RCB's bowling was a complete failure. Sophie Molyneux and Georgia Wareham got 1 wicket each.

RCB's top order did not give a good start to the team. Team captain Smriti Mandhana was out after scoring 24 runs in 16 balls. His partner S Meghna was out after scoring 4 runs. He played 13 balls.
Ellyse Perry and Sophie Devine added 32 runs in just 3.5 overs, raising hopes of a comeback, but Devine was then bowled out after scoring 23 runs. Ellyse Perry was out after scoring 24 runs in 23 balls.
In the end the batsmen performed brilliantly. Richa Ghosh could score 30 runs in 21 balls. At the same time, Georgia Wareham played a brilliant innings and gave RCB hope of victory by scoring 48 runs in 22 balls. Ultimately she was run out in the 19th over. Ekta Bisht was out after scoring 12 runs and Sophie Molyneux was out after scoring 3 runs. Whereas, Simran Bahadur remained unbeaten after scoring 1 run.

Team's bowler Ashla Gardner got 2 wickets. He introduced Smriti Maddhana and Richa Ghosh. Whereas, Catherine Bryce and Tanuja Kanwar got 1-1 wicket.
