Josh Hazlewood took 5 wicket haul for the 12th time.

The second match of the two-Test series is being played between Australia and New Zealand in Christchurch. On Friday, Australia won the toss and chose to bat. New Zealand collapsed after scoring 162 runs in the first innings. In reply, Australia scored 124 runs for 4 wickets in the first innings and took a lead of 38 runs.

Marnus Labuschagne is unbeaten on 45 runs and Nathan Lyon is unbeaten on 1 run. They will carry on with the innings on the second day. For Australia, fast bowler Josh Hazlewood took 5 wickets. Whereas, Mitchell Starc got three successes.

New Zealand's poor batting
New Zealand's batting was poor. Tom Latham and Will Young opened for the team. Latham was out after scoring 38 runs and Will Young after scoring 14 runs. As soon as Latham was out, the innings fell apart. Kane Williamson was out after scoring 17 runs, Rachin Ravindra after scoring 4 runs and Daryl Mitchell after scoring 4 runs.

The team lost 5 wickets for 84 runs. Wicketkeeper batsman Tom Blundell scored 22 runs. But he too was out on Cameron Green's ball and Glenn Phillips was LBW on the first ball.

In the end, Matt Henry and captain Tim Southee added some runs and together made the biggest partnership of 55 runs in the innings. Saudi returned to the pavilion after scoring 26 runs and Henry 29 runs. Ben Sears remained not out after scoring 0 runs.

5 wickets for Hazlewood
Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood took 5 wickets. He dismissed Latham, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell and Kane Williamson early on, then completed his five-wicket haul with the wicket of Matt Henry in the end. Apart from him, Mitchell Starc got 3 wickets. Pat Cummins and Cameron Green got 1-1 success.

Australia's openers could not score much runs. Steve Smith, who came to open, was out after scoring 11 runs and Matt Henry was out after scoring 16 runs. Cameron Green was out after scoring 25 runs and Travis Head was out after scoring 21 runs. Team player Marnus Labuschagne remained not out after scoring 45 runs.
