Irrfan Khan, revered as one of the finest actors globally, continues to be celebrated for his profound impact on cinema, even after his passing. Recently, Bollywood actress Divya Dutta shared endearing anecdotes about her experiences working with the late actor, shedding light on his playful and mischievous nature.
In a conversation with The Lallantop, Divya Dutta reminisced about her first film with Irrfan Khan, titled Dubai Returns. Recalling a scene where Irrfan’s character was required to drink water from a glass and then return it, Divya recounted how the actor playfully deviated from the script by refusing to return the glass. Despite her attempts to adhere to the script, Divya found herself in a humorous exchange with Irrfan, resulting in an unexpected outburst in Marathi and Hindi. To her surprise, the crew applauded their impromptu act, prompting Irrfan to remark, “Kuch toh baat hai tum mai (There is something about you).”
Divya also shared a touching moment from the filming of Hisss, where she and Irrfan had to film an intimate scene together. Reflecting on Irrfan’s shy demeanor during the shoot, Divya recalled her joy upon witnessing his nervousness for the first time, as she sought him out for the scene.
Irrfan Khan’s legacy extends beyond Bollywood to Hollywood, where he left an indelible mark with his exceptional talent. His untimely demise on April 29, 2020, following a battle with neuroendocrine cancer, left the industry and fans worldwide mourning his loss. His final cinematic offering, Angrezi Medium, served as a poignant reminder of his brilliance, with Khan delivering a memorable performance alongside Radhika Madan, Deepak Dobriyal, and Kareena Kapoor Khan under the direction of Homi Adajania. Notably, Khan posthumously received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his role in the 2020 film.
