Mumbai has won the title of Ranji Trophy 2023-24. Mumbai defeated Vidarbha by a huge margin of 169 runs in the final match. This is Mumbai's 42nd Ranji title. The team has become champion after waiting for 8 years. Mumbai last won the title in the 2015-16 season. Chasing the target of 538 runs on the last day, Vidarbha team could score only 368 runs in the second innings.
Vidarbha lost its last 5 wickets in the second session on Thursday at Wankhede ground. Till lunch the team's score was 333/5. Akshay Wadkar was out after scoring 102 and Harsh Dubey was out after scoring 65 runs. There was a partnership of 130 runs between the two. As soon as these two were out, the team disintegrated. Musheer Khan, who scored 136 runs in Mumbai's first innings, took 2 wickets. He was chosen Player of the Final.

Akshay's century, Harsh's fifty
In Vidarbha's second innings, Akshay Wadkar (102 runs) scored a century, while Harsh Dubey (65 runs) scored a half-century. Before this, Karun Nair contributed 74 runs. Apart from Musheer, Tushar Deshpande took 2 wickets and Tanush Kotian took 4 wickets from Mumbai side. Shams Mulani and Dhawal Kulkarni got one wicket each.
Akshay Wadkar played a century inning of 102 runs. He made a partnership of 130 runs with Harsh Dubey.
Mumbai had given a target of 538 runs
Host Mumbai had given Vidarbha a target of 538 runs. The team scored 418 runs in its second innings. Mumbai had a lead of 119 runs in the first innings. Thus Vidarbha got the target of 538 runs.

Vidarbha was reduced to just 105 runs in the first innings. Earlier, Mumbai, batting first after losing the toss, scored 224 runs in the first innings.
