The 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is starting after 2 days. There have been 16 seasons of the league since 2008. More than a thousand matches have been played in these. New records are made every year, but there are some records of international cricket which have not been made in this league till now.

Till now no team has been able to score 300+ in an innings in IPL. Not only this, not even 6 sixes were hit in one over. Let us know in detail about such top-5 records.

1. Highest score: Nepal scored 300+ runs
The highest score in IPL was made by Bengaluru against Pune Warriors in 2013. Then Bengaluru had scored 263 runs for 5 wickets. A score bigger than this has been made thrice so far in international matches. In the year 2023 itself, Nepal scored 300+ against Mongolia for the first time in T-20 International. However, this record has been made after IPL 2023.

The highest score before IPL 2023 was made by Afghanistan against Ireland in 2019 (278/3). In this match, Hazratullah Zazai had scored 162* runs with the help of 16 sixes. This too has not broken yet.

2. Double hat-trick: Never in IPL, four times in International T-20
Till now no player has been able to take a double hat-trick in IPL. Taking four wickets in four consecutive balls is called a double hat-trick. This has happened 4 times in International T20 cricket. Sri Lanka's Lasith Malinga has achieved this feat in 2019, Afghanistan's Rashid Khan in 2019, Ireland's Curtis Campher in 2021 and Jason Holder in 2022. No one has been able to make this record yet in IPL.

3. Fastest Half Century: Yashasvi was one ball behind in 2023
In the T20 World Cup 2007, Yuvraj hit six sixes in an over against England. He made a world record by completing his half-century in 12 balls. This record has not been broken in International or IPL.

However, last season, Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was 2 balls away from breaking this record and one ball away from equaling the record. On May 11, 2023, Jaiswal scored 50 runs in just 13 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders.

4. Biggest partnership: IPL pair 29 runs apart
The biggest partnership in IPL was between RCB's Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers against Gujarat Lions in 2016. Together they had added 229 runs. However, there have been partnerships of more than 229 runs twice in international cricket.

In the year 2019, there was a 236-run partnership between Afghanistan's Usman Ghani and Hazratullah Zazai against Ireland. At the same time, on 15 February 2024, two Japanese batsmen made an unbeaten 258-run partnership against China.

5. 6 sixes in one over: Has been hit twice in International T-20
No batsman in IPL has been successful in hitting six consecutive sixes in an over. This has happened twice in International T-20 cricket. India's Yuvraj Singh and West Indies' Kieron Pollard have done this in international matches of this format.
