Wheat procurement workshop for Rabi marketing year 2024-25 was organized in Mau. During the meeting, District Food Marketing Officer Vipul Kumar Sinha told that a total of 61 purchasing centers are operated under the Rabi Marketing Year 2024-25 scheme. The minimum support price of wheat in this financial year is fixed at Rs 2275 per quintal. A total target of purchasing 35 thousand MT wheat has been set for Rabi marketing year 2024-25. During the workshop, Additional District Magistrate Satyapriya Singh expressed satisfaction over the status of paddy purchasing in this financial year. He said that this year many reforms have been made by the government to ease the process of wheat procurement. These include the facility of registering farmers at the purchase centers only, farmers from nearby villages selling wheat at the nearby purchase center, and sharecroppers getting themselves registered and selling wheat, etc. So that wheat can be purchased as much as possible. He said that all the purchasing centers will be monitored daily. Therefore, all center in-charges should try to purchase as much wheat as possible. On the slow progress of registration of farmers, the Additional District Officer asked to increase it by taking cooperation from the employees of Agriculture, Supply and Revenue Department working at the rural level. Besides, all the center in-charges were instructed to behave well with the farmers and ensure the purchase of wheat from the farmers at the purchasing centres.
