R Sai Kishore managed to deliver a game-changing wicket of MI’s Rohit Sharma to turn the tides to Gujarat Titans’ favour.
Mumbai Indians’ chase of 169 runs in their opening fixture against the Gujarat Titans took a massive blow as their star batter, Rohit Sharma was dismissed by the GT spinner, R Sai Kishore.
Batting at 43 off 29 deliveries, Rohit looked to pick up the pace in his innings as he neared his half-century. But the Tamil Nadu-based spinner was able to deliver the big wicket of the Indian skipper.
Kishore looked to use some of the turn on offer as he got the ball just a tad shorter than Rohit expected and missed the sweep shot. This led to the ball going straight at the pads as he tumbled and fell.

Following this, Mohit Sharma also managed to get the wicket of the MI’s impact substitution, Dewald Brewis who missed out on his half-century to swing the tide back in GT’s favour.
The Titans managed to get the win after a stellar final over by the veteran Umesh Yadav who gave the home side the win by 6 runs to open their campaign with a win.
On a positive note, the form of Rohit Sharma who has been in fine touch in the opening clash will be something that the selectors would note as the T20 World Cup approaches ever so closer and the Mumbaikar could be given the onus to lead the side once again to put aside the woes of missing out the ODI World Cup.
Following the opening clash, MI will travel to Hyderabad as they take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad led by Pat Cummins. The Hardik Pandya-led team will look to pick up the win in their second fixture as they look to reclaim the title which has eluded the side since 2020.
