All bow before the King. Well, that is exactly what transpired at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore, when an RCB fan interrupted play, all during Bangalore’s chase, just to fall down at the feet of the talisman batter Virat ‘King’ Kohli.

RCB was tasked with chasing down a formidable target of 177 set by the Punjab Kings. Needing a fiery start to set the scores ablaze, the home team and supporters looked to their openers skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli to get them going.

And Kohli sure got them off to a fiery one, slashing away PBKS’ Sam Curran for four boundaries in the very first over of the game, sending a message to the opposition.

During the break of an over, a fan from the stands rushed all the way to the crease, in pursuit of Kohli and collapsed at his feet in reverence of the great batter.

Kohli was in stellar form as the swashbuckling batter continues and slice and dice his way to a well-deserved fifty, a historic 100th fifty in T20 cricket for the veteran, in an innings laced with fours and sixes galore.

Despite the loss of timely wickets, credit to the skill of PBKS’ spinner Harpreet Brar and Protean pacer Kagiso Rabada, Kolhi continues to make a stand and looks on to push RCB to their first win of the 2024 IPL season.
