Cricket Australia (CA) has once again expressed its desire to host the bilateral series between India and Pakistan. He says that if the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) agree to play bilateral series then they are ready to host. CA had expressed such a desire even after the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Cricket Australia released the schedule of its home season on Tuesday. According to this schedule, the cricket teams of India and Pakistan will be in Australia in November this year. India will be there for the Test series, while Pakistan will be there for the ODI and T20 series. In view of this, CA has reiterated its desire to host the India-Pakistan series.
CA 2024-25 season schedule released
Cricket Australia (CA) released the schedule for the 2024-25 season on Tuesday. This schedule also includes a five-match Test series against India. The first Test will be held in Perth on 22 November. After this, the day-night test will be played in Adelaide from 6th December. Then the third Test will be held at The Gabba ground in Brisbane from 14 December and the fourth Test will be held in Melbourne from 26 December. The last Test will be played in Sydney from 3 January 2025.
Apart from India, Pakistan team will also go to Australia for a series of 3 ODI and 3 T20 matches. The tour of Pakistan will start from 4th November and continue till 18th November. Four days later, the Test Test between India and Australia will start.
Desire was expressed after T-20 World Cup 2022
T20 World Cup 2022 was played in Australia. Its 16th match was played between India and Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). In this, India had won by four wickets. In this, a record 90,293 spectators reached the stadium. Since then, CA and MCG had expressed their desire to host the India-Pakistan match.

CA Chief Executive Nick Hockley again reiterated his wish on Wednesday. They said, 'Hosting the India-Pakistan match at the MCG in 2022 was one of the most memorable moments of this ground. Now many people want to witness such a match again. If such an opportunity arises, we would love to host it. We are excited to host Pakistan and India this summer.
Last test series played in 2007
India-Pakistan last played a bilateral series in India in 2012. This was a limited overs series. The last Test series between the two countries was played in 2007.
Both countries play only in ICC and ACC events
For the last ten years, India and Pakistan play only in multi-nation tournaments. These are the tournaments which are organized by ICC (International Cricket Council) and ACC (Asian Cricket Council). Both the countries have not played a bilateral series for the last 10 years.
