A viral video has been doing the rounds on social media where Riyan Parag can be seen dancing with Shubman Gill from their Under-19 days.
Riyan Parag was often berated for his performances in the IPL, he was targeted for being too outlandish even as his performances with the bat continued to be mediocre. However, he turned a new leaf in his chapter with a coming-of-age knock against the Delhi Capitals in the last match.
Rajasthan Royals has given the young batter a long rope and this season, he has been locked at the number 4 spot. This seems to have worked for the batter as he started with a confident 29-ball 43 in the team’s opening match against Lucknow Super Giants. In the last match against the Delhi Capitals, Parag showed his true worth and immense potential.
He walked into the field when Rajasthan was struggling after having posted just 31 runs in the powerplay. The right-hander soaked up all the pressure, was content to rotate strike but then hit fifth gear towards the back end. Parag ended his knock by lacing 25 runs from Anrich Nortje’s final over and remained unbeaten on 85.

Now, a viral video has been doing the rounds on social media from his Under-19 days where he could be seen dancing with Shubman Gill. In this video, the young man can be seen enjoying his moves as Shubman Gill, Shivam Mavi, Abhishek Sharma cheer him on. After his remarkable knock against the Delhi Capitals, this clip has gone viral.
Speaking after his innings, Parag said that he has been working very hard to fine tune his game and that he was very emotional seeing all his hard work yield results. “I have put in a lot of practice. I had my options ready for both sides of the wicket; I was backing my strengths. I was confident that I could get a lot of runs. It wasn’t easy for a new batter to come and score, you needed someone to stay until the end. It’s been tough, I’m a bit emotional now, I have worked hard and seeing the fruits of it now,” he said to the host broadcasters.
