Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Mayank Yadav said that I really did not think that my debut would be so good. Mayank made his debut against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Saturday. Mayank, who made his debut for Lucknow, bowled the ball at a speed of 155.8 km/hr in the match. Mayank took 3 wickets for 27 runs in 4 overs and was adjudged player of the match. He has become the first pacer to be named Player of the Match on debut.

In his memorable debut match, Delhi resident Mayank bowled 6 of his 24 balls at a speed above 150 KMPH. The speed of all his 24 balls was above 140 KMPH.

Said in the post match presentation, 'I really didn't think my debut would go so well. I've heard from others that there can be nervousness when debuting. But, after the first ball, all my nervousness went away. He further said, during the match everyone said not to take too much pressure, just bowl on the stumps and use speed. That's what I did.

This fast bowler said, 'I thought I might need to bowl slower, but the wicket was helping, just keep bowling with pace,' captain Nicholas Pooran said. The first wicket was my favourite.

Mayank took his first wicket on the fourth ball of the 12th over. He got Jonny Bairstow caught by Marcus Stoinis. Bairstow was out after scoring 42 runs.

Batting after winning the toss, Lucknow scored 199 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday. In reply, Punjab team could score only 178 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. 21 year old fast bowler Mayank Yadav took 3 wickets in the debut match. He was chosen player of the match.

Mayank joined LSG in 2022 mega auction
LSG had bought Mayank in the 2022 mega auction at his base price of Rs 20 lakh. But, due to injury he had to wait for his debut. He said, I had aimed to debut at a young age, but then I can't do anything about injuries.
