The final trailer of Ajay Devgan starrer sports drama biopic 'Maidan' has been released. In this 2-minute trailer, Ajay is seen roaming around the country collecting football players.

Ajay will be seen in the role of Rahim in the film. Priyamani has played the role of his wife. Apart from both of them, Gajraj Rao, Slochita and Rudranil Ghosh will also be seen in important roles in the film.

'Maidan' is based on the life of SA Rahim
The story of 'Maidan' is based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, who was the coach and manager of the Indian National Football Team from 1950 to 1963. The final trailer of the film shows how Rahim had spent his entire life in giving recognition to the country through football.

At the end of the trailer, Ajay tells his team not to expect support from the crowd present in the field today and to play like Kaal.

Gajraj Rao is also seen in the trailer.  He will be seen in the role of Prabhu Ghosh in the film.

The film will be 3 hours long
Maidaan has been given 'U' certificate by the Censor Board without any cuts. The length of the film is 3 hours 2 minutes. It will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada on the occasion of Eid.

The film will clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer 'Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan', which is going to be released on April 10.

'Maidan' was stuck for 5 years
This film was announced in 2018. From then till now its release had been postponed about 5 times. Initially the set of this film was built in Dahisar where many sets like Olympic ground and running track were built in 9 acres. There were 30 to 35 days of shooting left on this set, but due to the lockdown and the pandemic, the remaining portion could not be shot for a long time.

The set was damaged due to cyclone nature.
The cost of making this set was Rs 7 crore. The set of the film also suffered a lot of damage due to Cyclone Nisarga. This film has been directed by 'Badhaai Ho' fame director Amit Sharma. Its producer is Boney Kapoor.

Talking about this film, producer Boney Kapoor had said, 'I was surprised that many people were not aware of the achievements of Syed Abdul Rahim. He is an unsung hero who deserves respect. His team also had heroes like Chunni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Balaram and Arun Ghosh. We hope that this film will inspire youngsters to play football.
