Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) achieved their second consecutive win in the Indian Premier League-2024 (IPL). The team defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 28 runs in the 15th match of the current season on Tuesday. After this match, Lucknow has come at fourth position in the points table, while Bengaluru is at ninth position.
Lucknow scored 181 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. In reply, Bengaluru team was all out after scoring 153 runs in 19.4 overs at their home ground. Mayank Yadav was the player of the match for the second consecutive time. Yadav took 3 wickets. Quinton de Kock from LSG scored 81 runs on 56 balls. Nicholas Pooran scored 40, Marcus Stoinis scored 24 and captain KL Rahul scored 20 runs.
Bengaluru lost its third match in the season, second consecutive at home.
This is Royal Challengers Bangalore's third defeat in the tournament. Bengaluru has suffered its second consecutive defeat on home ground. Bengaluru also had to face defeat from Chennai and Kolkata. Bengaluru's only win came against Punjab. On the other hand, Lucknow had earlier defeated Punjab, whereas in the first match the team had lost against Rajasthan.

Reasons for RCB's defeat
- Dropped catches at important moments Bengaluru had to suffer catch drops at important moments. Maxwell dropped the catch of De Kock on the second ball of the 7th over and Anuj Rawat dropped the catch of Nicholas Pooran on the third ball of the 17th over. After getting a lease of life, De Kock scored 81 runs and Puran scored 40 runs.

Bengaluru's middle order failed
While chasing the target of 182 runs, Bengaluru lost wickets continuously. Captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli made an opening partnership of 40 runs on 26 balls. After Virat Kohli's dismissal, the team's wickets started falling and the team could not recover. There were small partnerships between Patidar-Rawat and Karthik-Lomror in between, but these were not enough for the run chase.
De Kock-Rahul gave a strong start to Lucknow
Captain KL Rahul and D Kock gave a good start to Lucknow, who came to bat first. Both made an opening partnership of 53 runs. In the middle, there was a partnership of 56 runs between Marcus Stoinis and Quinton de Kock. In the end, Krunal and Puran added unbeaten 33 runs on 12 balls.
