Kamindu Mendis scored unbeaten 92 runs in the first innings. At the same time, he took 3 wickets for the team in the second innings.

Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 192 runs in the second test of the 2 test series. On Wednesday, Bangladesh team could not chase the target of 511 runs given by Sri Lanka on the fifth day of the match at Chantagaon ground and got all out for 318 runs.

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first. The team scored 531 runs in the first innings. In reply, Bangladesh could score only 178 runs in the first innings. With the lead in the second innings, Sri Lanka declared the innings at 157 runs for 7 wickets and gave Bangladesh a target of 511 runs.

Bangladesh were all out for 318 runs in the fourth innings and lost the match. With this, Sri Lanka made a 2-0 clean sweep in the series over Bangladesh. Sri Lanka won the first match by 328 runs.

25 year old all-rounder Kamindu Mendis was the player of the match for Sri Lanka. He scored unbeaten 92 runs in the first innings. At the same time, he took 3 wickets for the team in the second innings.

For Sri Lanka, 6 batsmen scored half-centuries in the first innings. No player could score a century. Opener Nishan Madushanka scored 57 runs, Dimuth Karunaratne scored 86 runs and Kusal Mendis scored 93 runs. Dinesh Chandimal was out after scoring 59 runs, captain Dhananjay de Silva was out after scoring 70 runs. Whereas, Kamindu Mendis remained unbeaten after scoring 92 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan got 3 wickets for Bangladesh. Whereas, Hasan Mahmood took 2 wickets and Khalid Ahmed took 1 wicket.

No batsman from Bangladesh batted in the first innings. The only half-century came from the bat of opener Zakir Hasan. He played an inning of 54 runs. The team was all out for 178 runs. Sri Lanka had a chance to follow on, which they did not choose and then came out to bat in the second innings.

Asitha Fernando took 4 wickets for Sri Lanka in the first innings. Whereas, Vishwa Fernando, Lahiru Kumara and Prabhat Jayasuriya got 2-2 wickets.
