Jaya had made Amitabh 'Shahenshah'

However, very few people would know that Jaya Bachchan has a big role in the success of this film. Actually, the story of the film 'Shahenshah' was written by Jaya Bachchan herself. This film gave a new identity to Amitabh. Even today his fans love to call him by this name.
Jaya's course was not over yet when filmmaker Hrishikesh Mukherjee reached FTII and appealed to let Jaya work in the film. After completing the course, she worked as a lead actress in her first film 'Guddi'.

Jaya was ready for the film after listening to the climax of 'Silsila'
Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Rekha starrer film 'Silsila' was released in 1981, but initially Jaya did not want to work in this film. The reason for this was the news of Rekha and Amitabh's affair. Director Yash Chopra had earlier cast Smita Patil and Parveen Babi in the film, but later decided to cast Jaya and Rekha.

Jaya worked with Amitabh Bachchan in the 1973 film 'Anamika'. After this both were seen in the film Zanjeer. It was said that before Zanjeer, 12 films of Big B had flopped, after which no actress wanted to work with him. Then Jaya decided to work with him. On this, Amitabh Bachchan told him that if the film was a hit, he would take him to London for a tour.
