There is no similarity between the two films. In this film, the period between 1952 and 1962 will be shown, which is called the golden period of the Indian football team.
Priyamani has worked with these big actors.
On comparison of Maidan with Shahrukh Khan's film Chak De India, Priyamani said – Both are sports drama films, but there is a lot of difference between the two films. Chak De India was based on hockey and this film is based on football. In that movie there were 11 women running and here there are 11 men running. This film is not just about football, but is a beautiful story of Rahim Sahab's family and his passion for football.
