2. India gets Igla-S missile: On April 8, the Indian Army received the first batch of 24 Russian-made Igla-S Man Portable Air Defense Systems (MANPADS) with 100 missiles under a major deal. The Igla-S system consists of a single launcher and one missile.

Deepak Mehrotra becomes the new MD and CEO of Aakash Education: On April 8, edtech startup Byju's owned company Aakash Education Services Limited has appointed Deepak Mehrotra as the new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The post was vacant after the resignation of Abhishek Maheshwari last year in September 2023.

4. Swiggy starts food delivery service on water: On April 8, Swiggy has now started its food delivery services on water also. The company has started it from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. Swiggy said that the company has expanded its services to deliver food to houseboats on Srinagar's iconic Dal Lake.
