Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant can be included in the T-20 World Cup team.

The selectors may consider the names of Rishabh Pant and Mayank Yadav in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup. T-20 World is to be held in West Indies and America from June 1. For this, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has to send the names of potential players by May 1.

According to Cricbuzz, due to his explosive performance in the IPL, Virat Kohli has almost confirmed his place. The names of wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who has returned from injury, and young fast bowler Mayank Yadav are being considered.

Rishabh Pant impressed with both wicketkeeping and batting.
Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant returned to cricket after almost a year. After his return, he impressed with both wicketkeeping and batting while captaining Delhi. He scored 2 fifties in 5 matches.

Pant was injured in a car accident on 30 December 2022. After which he underwent knee surgery, from which it took him 15 months to recover. Now he has made a comeback from the IPL which started in March this year.

Jai Shah had said, Pant will play if he is fit
Before the start of IPL, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had said that Rishabh Pant is part of the World Cup plan. If he regains fitness and performs better in the IPL, his name will be considered.

Pant has now taken 4 catches behind the wicket in only 5 matches of the tournament and made one stumping. Along with this, he also scored 153 runs at a strike rate of 154.54. These include 2 Fifty.

Virat Kohli secured his place by scoring 300 plus runs
It was claimed in many media reports about former Team India captain Virat Kohli that he could be dropped from the World Cup team. However, he silenced the critics and media reports by scoring 316 runs in just 5 IPL matches.

Virat also scored 2 fifties and a century in IPL. His average was 105.33 and strike rate was also 146.29. However, despite his performance, his team RCB won only one match. But he impressed with his batting and claimed the number 3 batting position in Team India. In such a situation, his joining the team was almost confirmed.

Mayank Yadav also impressed
Mayank Yadav, who made his debut for Lucknow Super Giants in this season of IPL, has impressed everyone with his speed. He is bowling at an average speed of 150 km/hr and has bowled the ball at the fastest speed twice in the season.

Not only this, Mayank also took 6 wickets at an economy rate of 6 in 3 matches of the tournament. Which included 2 Player of the Match awards. However, Mayank got injured while playing the third match and could bowl only one over. If he is fit, he can also be considered for inclusion in the World Cup team.

Dilemma among selectors regarding Shubman-Chahal
There is a dilemma in the minds of selectors regarding the opening position and the name of leg spinner. It is not yet decided whether Yashasvi Jaiswal or Shubhman Gill will open with captain Rohit Sharma. Yashasvi could not do anything special in the initial matches of IPL, while Shubman also looked out of form this season. Kohli will come at number-3 but the answer to who will be the opener has not been found yet.

Similarly, there is doubt regarding spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Chahal is performing brilliantly in the current season of IPL, but he is facing tough competition from Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav, who will not be able to play some matches for Delhi Capitals due to injury. However, both spinners can also be included in the squad of 15 players. Apart from these, the name of all-rounder Akshar Patel is also being discussed.

The names of T20 specialist players like Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh are confirmed. Among fast bowlers, the claims of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj and Arshdeep Singh seem strong. Mayank has also presented his claim.
