Claim of CUET UG 2024 paper leak: Students create ruckus in Kanpur, allegation of solving paper after exam

National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the CUET UG 2024 exam across the country on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Meanwhile, a paper leak case has come to light during the CUET exam in Maharana Pratap Group of Colleges, Kanpur. Students alleged that the paper was leaked at this centre. This news has become increasingly viral on social media.

Maharana Pratap Group of Colleges located in Chaubepur area of ​​Kanpur was made the exam center for CUET UG. CUET UG exam was being conducted in the college on Wednesday, May 15. The exam was to be held in the evening shift (offline mode), for which hundreds of students had reached the college. After the exam, some students alleged that even after the CUET UG 2024 exam was over, the college administration was getting the papers of many students solved.

After getting information about this, all the students started creating ruckus at the exam centre. Police were called to the spot to control the uproar. But despite the police’s explanation, the students continued the ruckus and started pelting stones. When the police took strict action to control hundreds of unruly students, the students started shouting slogans. After this, the news of CUET UG exam paper leak went viral on social media.

DCP and ADCP reached the spot
As soon as information about this ruckus was received, Chaubepur police station’s force, ADCP West and DCP West Vijay Dhull reached the spot. Calmed down the angry student and gathered information about the matter after listening to both the parties. DCP West said that investigation is being done on the basis of the allegations of the students. If any irregularity is found in the investigation, an FIR will be registered and further action will be taken in the matter.

4 days offline and 3 days online exam
National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the CUET exam. The examination will be conducted in offline mode for the first 4 days i.e. till 18th May. After this, the examination will be conducted through online medium on 3 days i.e. 21, 22 and 24 May.

More than 13 lakh 47 thousand registrations

13 lakh 47 thousand 618 students have registered themselves for CUET UG 2024. There are 7 lakh 17 thousand 11 boys and 6 lakh 30 thousand 500 girls. Apart from this, there are also seven transgenders. Through CUET UG score, admission will be done in 46 central, 37 state, 133 private, 32 deemed and 3 other universities of the country.

NTA had said that applicants should download the CUET UG admit card on the evening of May 14, so that they can know if any change is made in the examination centre.

Admission will be available in 45 central and 38 state universities.
On the basis of the score of this exam, after 12th, one can take admission for graduation studies in 45 central and 38 state universities across the country.
Through CUET UG, one can take admission in 32 deemed universities and about 125 private universities. For this exam, exam centers have been set up in 380 cities in the country and 26 foreign cities.

Exam is being conducted in hybrid mode in total 63 subjects.
This time the exam is being conducted in pen-paper or hybrid mode in total 63 subjects. Hybrid mode means that students will be able to give this exam in both CBT (Computer Based Test) and pen-paper mode formats.
Apart from domain subjects like Accountancy, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, Information Practices, Chemistry, Maths, Applied Maths, 45 minutes time will be given for the exam of all other subjects. 60 minutes will be given to solve the general test paper.
