TCS Announces Retirement of COO N Ganapathy Subramaniam, No Plans for Successor – News18
Prior to becoming COO, Subramaniam served as the EVP and head of TCS Financial Solutions, overseeing Products and Platform businesses.
Subramaniam took on the role of COO in February 2017 and has been with TCS since 1982.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced on Sunday, May 19, that the company’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director, N Ganapathy Subramaniam, will retire effective the same day.
“We hereby inform you that the term of office of Mr N Ganapathy Subramaniam, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director (COO & ED) of the Company, ends on May 19, 2024. Accordingly, he ceases to be COO & ED of the Company with effect from May 20, 2024,” TCS said in an exchange filing.
On April 12, Tata Group announced that its Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Executive Director would retire in May.
“He’s (Subramaniam) been doing many things and no single individual can replace him, our current thinking is, our leadership team, we are re-distributing the work he’s been doing and we don’t intend to appoint a new COO,” TCS CEO K Krithivasan had said in the post-earnings presser.
Subramaniam took on the role of COO in February 2017 and has been with TCS since 1982. Additionally, he has served as the Additional Director and Chairman of Tata Elxsi Limited since November 2014 and as the Additional Director (Non-Independent, Non-Executive) of Tata Communications Limited since December 2021.
Prior to becoming COO, Subramaniam served as the Executive Vice President and Head of TCS Financial Solutions, overseeing Products and Platform businesses. He also held various leadership roles in Client Delivery, Business Development, business integration, and Product Development.
In the March quarter, TCS posted a strong 9.3% year-on-year increase in profit, reaching Rs 12,502 crore compared to Rs 11,436 crore in the same period last year. The IT services giant also reported Q4 revenue growth of 3.5% year-on-year, amounting to Rs 61,237 crore, up from Rs 59,162 crore.
