In Fatehpur, common people are having to bear the brunt of the negligence of the electricity department. As a result of the negligence of the department, the roof above the shop caught fire due to the spark coming from the dilapidated electrical wire. Local people informed the fire brigade about the fire.

A spark from a faulty electric wire caused a huge fire in the roof of a shop near the Bakarganj police station in the Sadar Kotwali area around 7 p.m. The fire brigade, which arrived after being informed by local people, brought the fire under control.
Local Abrar Ahmed said that due to negligence of the electricity department, fire broke out twice in 24 hours. A shop got burnt due to fire. Information about the fire was being given to the department but no one took any notice. When the fire brigade team reached the spot, the electricity supply department did not switch off the power supply. The fire brigade team has somehow controlled the fire.
Kotwali in-charge told that some shopkeepers were occupying the road strip from the shop. The thatch caught fire due to spark from the electrical wire. There has been no casualty of any kind. The fire has been brought under control.
