A meeting was held by the Child Welfare Committee at Vikas Bhawan in Sonbhadra. Under the chairmanship of Child Welfare Committee Chairman Akhil Narayan Dev Pandey, rehabilitation and protection of children engaged in child begging and roadside garbage collection is being provided at the district level.

In this action plan, ORW Sheshamani Dubey from the District Child Protection Unit said that in the financial year 2023-24, a total of fourteen minor children living in adverse conditions and involved in child begging were freed. Which was presented before the Child Welfare Committee.
On the instructions of the committee, all the children were rehabilitated to their families by the District Child Protection Unit and Anti Human Trafficking Unit team. A total of 14 hot spots in the district have been selected by the joint team of District Child Protection Unit and Child Helpline Unit.
Child Welfare Committee members Amresh Chandra Pathak and Ranjana Chaubey told that in the months of May and June, a special campaign will be run for the rehabilitation of children engaged in child begging and collecting garbage on the roadside. For which action plans are being prepared.
Chairman of Child Welfare Committee, Akhil Narayan Dev Pandey told that if information related to child begging, child labour, child trafficking, child marriage is received, then immediate information is sent to the concerned police station, Child Welfare Committee, Anti Trafficking Unit, District Child Welfare Committee. Protection Unit, and asked to inform on child helpline toll free number 1098.
During this, Protection Officer Romi Pathak, Akanksha Upadhyay, Sheshamani Dubey from the District Child Protection Unit, Neelu Yadav, Seema Sharma, Sudha Giri, Aman Kumar Sonkar, Bajrang Singh, Dharamveer Singh, Anil Yadav, Satyam Chaurasia, Anshu Giri from the Child Helpline Unit, Ravindra Kumar, police station anti-human trafficking unit team and others were present.
