America beats Bangladesh before T-20 World Cup: Unbeaten 62-run partnership between Corey Anderson and Harmeet Singh

New Zealand’s Corey Anderson and Mumbai-born Harmeet Singh added an unbeaten 62-run stand off 28 balls to guide the team to victory.

Just 10 days before the start of the T20 World Cup, America has shown signs of pulling off an upset by defeating Bangladesh by 5 wickets. America is participating in the World Cup for the first time. The World Cup is to be held in America and West Indies from June 2.

Bangladesh is playing a three-match T20 series with the USA before the World Cup. In the first T20 match played in Houston on Tuesday, USA defeated Bangladesh by 5 wickets. Mumbai-born Harmeet Singh was the hero of USA’s victory. He played an unbeaten innings of 33 runs in 13 balls. He was also declared the Player of the Match.

Batting first, Bangladesh scored 153 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. In reply, USA scored 156 runs at the loss of 5 wickets with 3 overs remaining and won the match by 5 wickets.

Mumbai-born Harmeet Singh played an unbeaten inning of 33 runs on 13 balls.

Tauhid Hridoy was the top scorer for Bangladesh
Tauheed Hridoy was the top scorer for Bangladesh. He scored 58 runs on 47 balls. Mahmudullah scored 31 runs on 22 balls. Soumya Sarkar contributed 20 runs and Liton Das contributed 14 runs. Captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto (3) and Shakib Al Hasan (6) were out in quick succession.

For USA, Steven Taylor took 2 wickets for 9 runs in 3 overs. Whereas Jesse Singh and Ali Khan took 1-1 wicket.

Taylor and Patel gave a good start to USA
USA, chasing a target of 153 runs, got off to a good start from captain Monak Patel and Steven Taylor. Taylor scored 28 and Patel scored 12 runs. After the dismissal of captain Monak Patel, Taylor along with Andries Gaus took charge of the USA innings and took his team’s score forward by making a partnership of 38 runs.
