West Indies defeated South Africa by 28 runs in the first T20 match. With this victory, the West Indies team has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 home series being played before the T20 World Cup.

West Indies batted first and scored 175 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. In reply, South Africa’s entire team was all out for 147 runs in 19.5 overs. Captain Brandon King scored 79 runs in 45 balls for West Indies.

Bad start for South Africa
