District Election Officer Ravindra Kumar inspected the counting centre Naveen Mandi in Tikhampur on Monday for the Lok Sabha elections in Ballia. He inspected the dispatch centre, receiving centre, strong room and barricading etc. to be set up in the Mandi.

The District Election Officer directed all AROs to personally inspect the distribution of election material, arrangement of tables, chairs and sheets at the counting centre, electricity arrangements, entry and exit points, barricading arrangements, dispatch and receiving centre and depositing of EVM and VVPAT machines, making room wise charts and other things. Polling parties of four assembly constituencies Belthara Road, Bairia, Sikandarpur and Bansdih will be dispatched from Mandi and those of Ballia Sadar, Phephana and Rasra will be dispatched from Collectorate. But the receiving centre for polling parties of all the assembly constituencies will be the Mandi site itself and EVM and VVPAT machines will be kept in the strong room here. Counting of votes will be done in the counting centre.

He directed the Mandi Secretary and the Executive Engineer and Superintending Engineer of PWD to ensure all the basic facilities before time. During this, CDO Ojaswi Raj, ADM DP Singh, City Magistrate Indrakant Dwivedi, Election Officer in charge Akhilesh Yadav, all SDMs and other officers were present.
