The Indian Premier League (IPL) has got a new champion. In the 17th season, Kolkata Knight Riders won the trophy for the third time by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets. Venkatesh Iyer took a run on the third ball of Shahbaz Ahmed who was bowling the 11th over and gave the team victory.
KKR received a prize money of Rs 20 crore for winning the title. Runner-up SRH won Rs 12.50 crore. Rajasthan Royals, which came third, got Rs 7 crore and the fourth-placed team Royal Challengers Bangalore got Rs 6.50 crore.

Players from Kolkata and Hyderabad who played the finals won 6 out of 9 individual awards. Sunil Narine got the maximum of 2 awards.
Virat Kohli got the Orange Cap, Harshal Patel got the Purple Cap, while Narine was the Player of the Tournament.
Emerging Player of the Year, Super Striker of the Season, Player of the Tournament, Gamechanger of the Year, Most Fours and Maximum Sixes awards etc were also given in the final presentation ceremony.
