Raju Gautam, a resident of Amirsa of Sarai Akil, is a Zila Panchayat member from ward number 27. He was returning home from Sarai Akil town in his private car via Kotiya village this evening. Unknown miscreants on a bike overtook the car near Kotiya village on Prayagraj-Sarai Akil road and fired a gun at Raju Gautam. The bullet passed through the glass of the car. Raju Gautam narrowly escaped the attack.

According to the victim, District Panchayat member Raj Gautam, he recognized the miscreants by seeing them through the lights of his car. The miscreants were Sandeep Pal and Mayank of Kotiya village. He has demanded legal action against the accused by giving a written complaint to the police. Earlier also, the miscreants had attacked his brother with intent to kill. He had demanded legal action by giving a written complaint, but Sarai Akil police station did not take any action in the matter. Due to which the unruly miscreants attacked him with intent to kill.
According to police station in-charge Vineet Singh, the crime scene has been inspected. The police have recovered a pistol and cartridges from the spot near the car.
