The Excise Department takes up the contracts of cannabis every year so that the government can get revenue but ganja was being sold illegally at these cannabis shops with the connivance of the Excise Department, but no action was being taken by the Excise Department. Superintendent of Police Dr Iraj Raja was constantly receiving complaints about this, after which he took concrete steps and instructed the SOG surveillance and all the police stations along with the Kotwali police to conduct a special campaign and investigate the places where there are cannabis contracts. After which on Tuesday, the SOG, Surveillance team with the help of the police suddenly raided the cannabis shops in the Orai, Jalaun, Gohan police station areas of the district.
From here, the police team recovered a huge amount of ganja packets, which were being sold to the youth on the government contract of cannabis. During this, the police team succeeded in arresting seven people. The SOG and surveillance team recovered thousands of ganja packets from these people. The cost of which is lakhs of rupees. During this, the police took action against all the people caught and registered a case.
