A decision of a small village panchayat in Kaushambi has become a topic of discussion for everyone. This decision of the panchayat is no less than a boon for animals and birds, especially the national bird peacock, in the scorching heat. How a village panchayat is working to save animals and birds

,

As soon as summer starts, every rich and common man has to face water scarcity every day. Along with common man, animals and birds…especially the national bird of the country, the peacock, also look towards humans and plead for water for their lives. To save the most beautiful bird of the country, the peacock, from this water problem, the Panchayat of Selarha West village of Sirathu tehsil took an important decision.

The women of the village explained the importance of water through songs and music
The people of the village first called a general meeting to build a consensus. When the people gathered, the women of the village explained the importance of water to the younger generation through songs and music. When the phase of songs and music ended, the village panchayat announced its decision by consensus.

In this decision, every person in the village was appealed to save 2% of their daily water usage for animals and birds…especially for the national bird peacock. Not only this, to ensure that the peacock does not face any threat from humans, people were suggested to keep water in their fields, barns, roofs of houses, and empty pits, so that along with animals and birds, peacocks can also save their lives by drinking this water without any fear.

The condition of animals and birds is very bad
Village head Lavlesh Kumar said, the common man is suffering due to the scorching heat. So the condition of animals and birds will be very bad. With this thought in mind, he sat with the men and women of his village and prepared a plan to make an alternative arrangement of water for animals and birds, especially peacocks.

The Gram Panchayat not only passed it by making a proposal in the general meeting but also expressed its consensus on the need for every person to save water in their daily lives and keep animals and birds. We will not let this campaign remain limited to the village. We will spread it in the nearby villages and inspire people.

Many efforts are made for human life, but every person in the village has been convinced by this unique campaign to save the lives of animals and birds. Now the people of the nearby villages are also implementing the decision of the Panchayat without any hindrance.

Now read what the villagers say

Because religious belief says that “There is no religion to help others, brother, and everyone should try to hurt others”… Keeping this sentence in mind, he and his companions have respected the decision of the Panchayat. The result of which is that now the elders, women and children have taken this responsibility on their shoulders to implement it effectively.

To ensure that the pace of the campaign for water reservation for the national bird peacock does not slow down, the villagers organize musical meetings once a week to inject new energy into the villagers. Not only this, after the awareness meeting, the youth and elders of the village also hold meetings every week to review their campaign.

Kaushambi is situated in the confluence of two life-giving rivers like Ganga and Yamuna. Kaushambi has seen many ups and downs in the mirror of time. It has had the pride of being the capital of Vatsa country, Kosham, one of the sixteen Mahajanapadas. It has been the place of penance for great men of the era like Jain Tirthankara Mahavir and Lord Tathagata Buddha.

Kaushambi, which has incomparable pride in itself, fights a daily battle against the basic problem of water in the modern era. Out of its 8 blocks, 6 blocks are declared dark zones due to water shortage in summers. In such a situation, not only the common man but also animals and birds suffer from the shortage of water.
