‘I used to go to coaching every day. My coaching would run from 3 pm to 5 pm. After that I would come home. The coaching center was not very far from my house. I used to go and come on foot. That day too I was returning home alone. There was a lane at a short distance from my house.

,

He was wearing a white hoodie. He was wearing a cap. I could not recognize him. There was another boy with him who had hidden his entire face. As soon as they both came close, one of the young men took out a bottle from a black foil and threw something on me. As soon as the liquid fell on me, I felt a severe burning sensation. I fainted while screaming.

This was told to the police by an 11th class student in the year 2020, when she was attacked with acid. The student had rejected the marriage proposal of a young man studying with her. After which the young man along with his friend threw acid on the student.

While sentencing the culprit, the court said – the face is the mirror of a girl. You spoiled it, you do not deserve forgiveness.

This is ADGC Criminal Pramod Kumar Singh. He pleaded the case on behalf of the student.

The student’s testimony was the biggest evidence in the case

Daily newspaper I spoke to ADGC Criminal Pramod Kumar Singh on this entire matter. I also discussed the court order copy with him. He told me how both the accused of the victim were punished after 4 years.

He said- The testimony of the student was the biggest in this case. Apart from this, the testimony of the woman who first reached the victim after the incident. The evidence collected by the police from both the culprits also helped a lot in the case.

Before moving ahead with the news, know the whole matter-

The Bahraich District Court on Tuesday sentenced two youths to 20 years each in the acid attack case on a student. Along with the sentence, the court has imposed a fine of one lakh rupees each on both of them. Let us tell you, in December 2022, two youths threw acid on a student who was going home after studying in coaching in Nagar Kotwali area.

The student was badly injured in the attack. The family had filed a police complaint against two youths. The police had registered a case under 326A, 120B against Ehtesham and Suhail, who live in Salarganj. A chargesheet was filed against both of them in the court. After this incident, the student had left her home district.

Now read the things recovered from the accused which were used as evidence in the court-

Acid marks were found on the clothes of the accused

According to the police, the shirt and hoodie worn by the accused at the time of the incident had light marks of acid on them. The accused could not tell how they got there. But there were small holes on their clothes. When the team went to their house to arrest the accused, the clothes were found during the search. When both of them were asked the reason for this, they could not give any correct reason.

A bottle of acid was found at the scene

During the investigation, the police found a black bottle near the crime scene. The police kept it for investigation. During the investigation in the case, the finger prints of one of the accused matched with the bottle.

Investigation of chat and call details of both the accused

The police had recovered the phones of both the accused. In which their chats were found. A plan was made on how to carry out the incident. Also, the accused Ehtesham used to talk to the student. He had also asked the student to marry him. He used to ask the student to talk to him, but she kept refusing.

Read the statement of the woman who was the first to reach the victim after the incident-

The woman said, I was standing outside my house. Then I heard a girl screaming. When I moved forward, two boys ran in front of me. Their faces were covered with cloth. When I moved forward, I saw a girl holding her face and crying.

When I went closer, I saw that his face was completely swollen. The clothes around his shoulders and neck were burnt. There were wounds on his shoulders and neck. Some wet substance was lying on the road from where foam-like substance was rising.

I quickly ran home and brought water and ice. I poured water on the girl’s face. Then applied ice gently. A crowd had gathered there. Someone took the phone out of the girl’s bag and called her father. After he came, everyone took the girl to the hospital. After some time, the police also came to the spot, who left after investigation.

Now read the student’s testimony

After this incident, the student became very scared. But she testified in the court to get her accused punished. The student said, at first I did not know that the boys coming from the front were Ehtesham and Suhail. They had covered themselves completely. Also, both of them had left my school by now.

Ehtesham used to talk to me only on the phone. He always talked about marriage during our talks. But I always refused. After the incident, the police took my statement after I regained consciousness.

Then I told the police the name of Ehtesham on the basis of suspicion. Because he had threatened me earlier also. He wanted to marry me but I did not. I had clearly refused him. But he could not tolerate my no and he threw acid on me.

How did the police reach the two accused?

According to the police, when they went to investigate on the basis of the name given by the student, the culprit was found at home. On questioning, he was not able to tell anything properly. When he was asked about his whereabouts at the time of the incident, he replied that he was with his friend.

When we asked him about his friend’s name, he became silent. After that, we searched his room. We also found the clothes he was wearing at the time of the incident. He also told us the name of his other friend.

Read what the judge said while giving the verdict on the case?

Everyone’s face is their mirror. The crime of these two is unforgivable. When the incident happened with the student, she was 17 years old. She still has her whole life ahead of her. She looks at herself with an inferiority complex.

She avoids looking in the mirror. These people ruined the student’s life because she said no. Now she will have to live with an inferiority complex for the rest of her life. Both of them will be given severe punishment. The judge also reprimanded the two culprits in the courtroom when they apologized.
