2. Satyadeep Gupta created a record by doing double climbing simultaneously: On May 27, Indian mountaineer Satyadeep Gupta created a new record by climbing Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse twice in the same season. He created history by scaling the two peaks in 11 hours and 15 minutes.

  • Satyadeep Gupta scaled the 8,516-metre-high Mount Lhotse in the afternoon.
  • After this, at 12:45 in the midnight, he completed the climb to the 8,849 meter high Mount Everest.
  • He was accompanied by mountaineer guides Pestemba Sherpa and Nima Ugandi Sherpa.
  • Earlier, Satyadeep had climbed Mount Everest on May 21 and Mount Lhotse on May 22.

3. Quantum Diamond Microchip Imager to be made in the country: On May 28, Indian company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) signed an agreement with IIT Bombay regarding semiconductor sensing tools. Under this, TCS and IIT Bombay will jointly manufacture the country’s first quantum diamond microchip imager.

  • The Quantum Diamond Microchip Imager can create images of magnetic fields.
  • This allows for non-invasive and non-destructive mapping of semiconductor chips.
  • This will work to reduce the failure of semiconductor chips and improve electronics devices.
  • It will take 2 years to develop the quantum diamond microchip imager.
  • The project will be worked on by TCS experts from PiQuest and Dr Kasturi Saha, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay.

4. Tata AIA Life Insurance launches instant loan facility: On May 28, Tata AIA Life Insurance launched a new service through which policy holders can avail instant loan of up to Rs 1 lakh. This service allows customers to avail loan against their insurance policy without losing coverage.

Policy holders will be able to take loans only on selected life insurance policies.

  • Through this, the loan amount will be deposited in the customer’s account within 1 minute.
