Astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla associated with Gaganyaan Mission was in Lucknow on Wednesday. During this time he also visited his school City Montessori School (CMS) Aliganj Campus. Where he was given a warm welcome. Shubhanshu remembered the old days after meeting the teachers in the school.

Warm welcome on reaching school

The welcome ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp. Reminiscing his school days, Shubhanshu shared with the students his journey from school class to space orbit. He also spoke about the importance of teachers and friends in his success.

Shubhanshu said that travelling in space and observing the earth from space is the purpose of his life. For this, he has worked on practical knowledge, physical fitness and discipline for many years along with deep study.

The journey started with Indian Air Force

In 2006, he was selected as a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force. After this, he became an astronaut of ISRO. Shubhanshu has been trained at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Russia for the Gaganyaan mission. On February 27 this year, he was awarded the ‘Astronaut’s Wings’ honor by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During this, CMS manager Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, former principal Gauri Khanna, current principal Jyoti Kashyap, Shivani Singh along with a large number of teachers and students were present.
