A newly married woman of Lakhimpur died under suspicious circumstances. The husband called the parents and informed them to take her to the hospital. The parents reached the hospital, but the in-laws were missing from there and the body was kept in the mortuary. When the parents saw the body, they were shocked.

22 year old Anita, a resident of Chandpur in Thana Pihani area of Hardoi, was married three months ago to Satyam, a resident of village Jagbahadurganj in Lakhimpur Pasgwa area. Her parents allege that before marriage, money was sent to Satyam’s account and then money was also given at the time of marriage. In this way, 12 lakh rupees were given to him. A few days after marriage, Anita’s husband and in-laws started harassing her. Her husband was pressurizing Anita to bring five lakh rupees from her parents. Whenever she refused, her husband used to beat her mercilessly. Being harassed many times, Anita told everything to her parents. On Tuesday night, the husband informed her parents that Anita’s health is not well. He is going to get her admitted to the Government Medical College of Shahjahanpur.

After that, the people from her maternal side left for Shahjahanpur hospital. When they reached the hospital, Anita’s body was kept in the mortuary and her husband and in-laws were missing. There are injury marks on Anita’s body and blood is also coming out from her neck. They have demanded action against her husband and in-laws. The police station in-charge said that a woman was brought to the Government Medical College for treatment. After her death, a Panchnama was filled and she was sent for postmortem.
