On Thursday, on the instructions of the government, the team of the Agriculture Department inspected fertilizer and seed shops in different areas in Bahraich. During this, the license of one shop was cancelled after irregularities were found. Also, a notice was issued to another and 41 samples were sent for testing.

The team of Deputy Agriculture Director TP Shahi, Sub Divisional Agriculture Extension Officer Sadar Uday Shankar Singh in Payagpur, Additional District Agriculture Officer Gyan Prakash Srivastava in Kaiserganj and Mahsi, District Agriculture Officer Satish Kumar Pandey in Nanpara and Mihipurwa tehsil raided 66 fertilizer and seed shops.
Action will be taken if any discrepancy is found
District Agriculture Officer Satish Pandey said that during the investigation, the license of a fertilizer shop has been cancelled due to incomplete documents. Along with this, 41 samples of paddy and maize seeds have been sent for testing. Shopkeepers have been instructed to ensure that quality seeds are made available to farmers. If any irregularities are found, action will be taken against them.
