The Indian women’s doubles pair of Trisa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand has caused a big upset in the Singapore Open. On Thursday, the duo defeated world number-2 South Korea’s Baek Ha Na and Lee So Hee 21-9, 14-21, 21-15 in three games in the round of 16 match at the Singapore Open. On the other hand, PV Sindhu had to face defeat in the women’s singles match.
They took the lead in the first game, but the Korean pair made a comeback in the second game
The pair of Baek and Lee made mistakes during the match, which allowed Treesa and Gayatri to win the first game without any trouble by a big margin of 21-9. The Indians gave the South Koreans a chance to make a comeback, winning the second game without any mistake by 14-21, and the match went to the third game.

The third game was tied, Gayatri-Treesa made a comeback
With the match tied at 1-1, the decision came in the third game. This decisive third game was thrilling. At the beginning of the match, the shuttlers of both the countries hit some powerful smashes. At one point, the match was tied at 8-8 points. The Indian pair continued to play aggressively and scored six consecutive points to make the score 16-9 and registered a memorable victory.

Sindhu and Prannoy lost
In men’s singles, India’s HS Prannoy lost to 11th seeded Kenta Nishimoto of Japan 13-21, 21-14, 15-21 in a match that lasted 45 minutes. This was the Indian player’s fourth defeat in six matches against the Japanese player.
On the other hand, two-time Olympic champion PV Sindhu was eliminated after losing to Carolina Marin of Spain in the Round of 16 match. There were many ups and downs in this match, this great Indian shuttler won the first game, but later lost the match 21-11, 11-21, 20-22. This was Sindhu’s sixth consecutive defeat at the hands of the Spanish player.
