A newly married woman who had come to her maternal home in Mahuakola village of Beniganj police station area in Hardoi committed suicide by hanging herself. The family was devastated after getting information about the incident. Police reached the spot, took the body in custody and sent it for postmortem.

22-year-old Gudiya, daughter of Tejaram Maurya, a resident of Mahuakola, was married to Shivam Maurya, a resident of Barwapurva of Baghauli police station area, on April 11. Gudiya came to her maternal home in Mahuakola on May 18. In the evening, after having dinner, she went to her room. When she did not come out for a long time, the family members went to her room and found her body hanging from a sari noose.
Action will be taken on receipt of complaint
The head of Mahuakola informed the police about the incident. On this, Beniganj Kotwal Sanjay Tyagi reached the spot. The Kotwal said that the body has been sent for postmortem. Further action will be taken on the basis of the postmortem report. The family has not given any written complaint yet. After receiving the complaint, further legal action will be implemented after investigation.
