England defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in the fourth match of the 4 match T20 series. With this victory, England also won the series 2-0. Only 2 matches could be played in the series, the remaining 2 matches were washed out due to rain.

England won the toss and chose to bowl on Thursday evening at The Oval ground in London. Batting first, Pakistan scored 157 runs losing all wickets in 19.5 overs. In reply, England chased the target in 15.3 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.

For England, Adil Rashid took 2 wickets and also caught 2 catches for which he was awarded the Player of the Match. Mark Wood and Liam Livingstone got 2-2 wickets each. Chris Jordan, Moeen Ali and Jofra Archer got 1-1 wickets. Phil Salt played an innings of 45 runs in batting. Haris Rauf of Pakistan got 3 wickets.

Rizwan-Babar opened the innings
Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam opened for Pakistan. This was the first time this year that both of them opened the innings together for the team. Making a great start, both of them scored 59 runs in the powerplay. However, the team got its first wicket on the last ball of the powerplay and Babar was out after scoring 23 runs. Jofra Archer took his wicket.

In the next over, Babar also became the victim of Adil Rashid. Rashid bowled him and he returned after scoring 36 runs. Usman Khan added some runs for the team during this time and scored 38 runs in 21 balls.

Moeen Ali performed brilliantly and took the wicket of Fakhar Zaman in the 9th over. Zaman was out after scoring 9 runs. Shadab Khan was out on the very first ball. Rashid bowled him.

Wicketkeeper Azam Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi also failed to open their account. Iftikhar Ahmed scored 21 runs and Naseem Shah added 16 runs in the end. Haris Rauf was also out after scoring 8 runs. Mohammad Aamir remained unbeaten after scoring 0 runs. The team was all out at 157 runs.

All the bowlers took wickets for England. Mark Wood, Adil Rashid and Liam Livingstone got 2-2 wickets each. Whereas, Jofra Archer, Chris Jordan and Moeen Ali got 1-1 success.

Salt’s aggressive innings made England’s chase easier
Phil Salt and Jos Butler started the innings for England. Phil Salt played an aggressive innings and scored 45 runs in just 24 balls. This included 2 sixes. On the other hand, Jos Butler scored 39 runs in 21 balls. This pair scored 78 runs in the power play itself.

Pakistan got its first success in the 7th over, where Phil Salt was out. Butler returned to the pavilion in the 10th over. The chase became easy due to the innings of the opening pair. Will Jacks returned after scoring 20 runs. At the same time, Johnny Bairstow remained unbeaten after scoring 28 runs in 16 balls and Harry Brook remained unbeaten after scoring 17 runs in 14 balls.

3 wickets for Haris Rauf
Apart from Haris Rauf, no bowler from Pakistan could perform well. Haris took all the wickets for the team. While Shaheen Shah Apridi and Shadab Khan were economical with an economy of 6 runs, Mohammad Aamir gave away runs at an economy of 13.5.
