More than 2 crore 50 lakh voters will exercise their franchise

Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Ranwa said that in the seventh phase, there are a total of 2,50,56,877 (2 crore 50 lakh 56 thousand 877) voters, of which 1,33,10,897 are men (1 crore 33 lakh 10 thousand 897) and 1,17,44,922 are women (1 crore 17 lakh 44 thousand 922) and 1,058 are third gender voters.

In the seventh phase, the highest number of voters are in Gorakhpur and the lowest number of voters is in Salempur Lok Sabha constituency. A total of 144 candidates are in the fray in 13 Lok Sabha constituencies, of which 134 are men and 10 are women. In the seventh phase, the highest number of 28 candidates are in Ghosi Lok Sabha constituency and the lowest number of 7 candidates are in Deoria and Varanasi Lok Sabha constituencies.

•The total number of voters in Maharajganj Lok Sabha constituency is 20,04,050, of which 10,55,607 are men, 9,48,367 are women and 76 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 2084, while the number of candidates is 8.

•The total number of voters in Gorakhpur Lok Sabha constituency is 2097202, of which 11,23,868 are men, 9,73,160 are women and 174 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 2038, while the number of candidates is 13.

•The total number of voters in Kushinagar Lok Sabha constituency is 18,75,222, of which 9,85,378 are men, 8,89,748 are women and 96 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 1832, while the number of candidates is 09.

•The total number of voters in Deoria Lok Sabha constituency is 1873821, of which 9,91,341 are men, 882371 are women and 109 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 1894, while the number of candidates is 07.

•The total number of voters in Bansgaon (reserved) Lok Sabha constituency is 1820854, of which 9,68,212 are men, 8,52,555 are women and 87 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 1930, while the number of candidates is 08.

•The total number of voters in Ghosi Lok Sabha constituency is 2083928, of which 11,03,551 are men, 980302 are women and 75 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 2125, while the number of candidates is 28.

•The total number of voters in Salempur Lok Sabha constituency is 1776982, of which 945511 are men, 831404 are women and 67 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 1872, while the number of candidates is 09.

•The total number of voters in Ballia Lok Sabha constituency is 1923645, of which 1032943 are men, 890639 are women and 63 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 1996, while the number of candidates is 13.

•There are total 2074883 voters in Ghazipur Lok Sabha constituency, of which 1091592 are men, 983266 are women and 25 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 2035, while the number of candidates is 10.

•The total number of voters in Chandauli Lok Sabha constituency is 1843196, of which 987671 are men, 855475 are women and 50 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 1868, while the number of candidates is 10.

•The total number of voters in Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency is 1997578, of which 1083750 are men, 913692 are women and 136 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 1909, while the number of candidates is 7.

•The total number of voters in Mirzapur Lok Sabha constituency is 1906327, of which 999567 are men, 906691 are women and 69 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 2143, while the number of candidates is 10.

•The total number of voters in Robertsganj (reserved) Lok Sabha constituency is 1779189, of which 941906 are men, 837252 are women and 31 are third gender. The total number of polling stations is 1932, while the number of candidates is 12.

• There are a total of 3,44,840 (03 lakh 44 thousand 840) voters in the by-election on the same Dudhhi assembly seat, of which 1,81,250 (1 lakh 81 thousand 250) are men and 1,63,581 (1 lakh 63 thousand 581) are women and 9 third gender voters. There are 361 polling stations, of which 80 are critical and 216 are polling stations. The number of candidates is 6.

25658 polling booths were set up

There are a total of 25,658 polling booths in the seventh phase of elections, out of which 4165 are critical. There are 14,183 polling stations. To keep an eye on the voting, the commission has deployed 03 special observers, 13 general observers, 08 police observers and 14 expenditure observers. Apart from this, 1861 sector magistrates, 243 zonal magistrates, 130 static magistrates and 2550 micro observers have also been deployed.

To complete the election process, 7258 heavy vehicles, 5346 light vehicles and 108349 (01 lakh 08 thousand 349) polling personnel have been deployed. 31,223 EVM control units, 34,280 ballot units and 33,366 VVPATs have been prepared for voting in 13 Lok Sabha constituencies.

Adequate paramilitary forces have been deployed to ensure peaceful conduct of the elections. The responsibility of protecting the strong room has also been given to the paramilitary forces.

In view of the deployment of paramilitary forces/police forces during the seventh phase of elections, arrangements for air ambulance and helicopter have also been made for medical assistance in case of an emergency.

In the same seventh phase, voter slips have been distributed to 2 crore 47 lakh 79 thousand 548 voters. Apart from this, voters can also get information about their polling station through Voter Helpline App, Election Commission of India website. Voter guides have also been distributed for the convenience of voters. Voter guides have been distributed to 49 lakh 49 thousand 347 families in the districts of the seventh phase. 13 lakh 30 thousand 994 voter photo identity cards have been distributed in the districts of the seventh phase from October 27, 2023 to May 31, 2024.
