A program was organized today by the Bareilly division unit and the metropolitan unit of the Pragya Parishad. Punyashloka Lokmata Devi Ahilya was organized in the M.Ed auditorium of Bareilly College on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of the icon of women empowerment, Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore.

The main speaker in the event was Dr. Deepti Bhardwaj, Independent Director, National Research and Development Corporation, Government of India. The event was presided over by Bareilly College Principal Prof. Pampa Gauram. Pragya Pravah’s Brij Pradesh Youth Dimension Coordinator Mridul Dixit told about the objectives and tasks of Pragya Pravah. Mandal Coordinator Prof. Vandana Sharma told about the program.

Girl students also participated in the programme.

Chief speaker Dr. Deepti Bhardwaj said that Ahilya Bai was an efficient and successful administrator, diplomatic personality, one who worked for the upliftment of women, generous character, an epitome of patience, she also said that the way Ahilya Bai built temples, ghats and wells, built roads for public welfare and struggled at famous pilgrimage places across India, outside the borders of her state Madhya Pradesh, will always be an inspiration.

About the rule of Ahilyabai

The way Ahilyabai ruled, such efficient governance and administration is required in today’s time and at present, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working in this direction in India.

Prof. Pampa Gautam said that the youth should be inspired to gain knowledge about Mata Ahilyabai and take inspiration from her life and struggle and bring it into their lives. The program was conducted by Dr. Ajita Singh Tiwari and the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Amita Gupta.
