Due to the heat in Lucknow, arrangements have been made for the animals in the zoo. Efforts are being made to maintain coolness around the snake house so that there is no negative effect on health. Bear Sushma has stopped eating due to the heat. She is given watermelon, melon, litchi, mango, banana, milk and bread.

Tiger ‘Sher Khan’ has now started enjoying the air of the cooler. Animals and birds are being monitored 24 hours a day. There are 995 animals of 81 species in the zoo. This special arrangement has been made so that the effect of heat on them is less.

The animals are being monitored through cameras here. There are four tigers in the zoo named Sher Khan, Simba, Abhi and Sakshi. They are given diet according to their age and health. Currently they are eating one to one and a half kilograms less food. When the diet is reduced, the health of the animals is being maintained through other supplements.

Their proper monitoring is being done. Zoo director Aditi Sharma told that the animals are moving only in the morning and late evening. She said- The animal enclosures are being opened before the normal routine in the morning. They are feeling good due to this. Usually, the animal houses are closed after the visitors come out in the area, whereas at this time the visitor area is also being kept open along with the house gate.

Due to the heat, cheetahs are not coming to the visitors area during the afternoon.

Normal temperature is being maintained in the zoo to protect the animals from the heat of summer. For this, 25 coolers have been installed in the entire zoo. Coolers are being run for lion, cheetah, snake house, lion tail monkey, white tiger, owl house, fish house. At the same time, sprinkler systems have been installed for animals and birds to protect them from the heat, which are being run on rotation basis. These sprinklers are also installed in the bird enclosures along with the animals.
