In 2014, Som Nath Poudyal of SDF emerged victorious in this seat beating Mani Kumar Sharma of SKM by a margin of 270 votes which was 2.81% of the total votes polled in the constituency. SDF secured a vote share of 49.13% in the seat.

In the 2009 state Assembly elections, Am Prasad Sharma of SDF won this seat beating Nar Bahadur Bhandari of INC by a margin of 1266 votes which was 16.6% of the total votes polled in the constituency. SDF had a vote share of 56.37% in the seat.
