The scorching heat in Azamgarh has made the condition of people miserable. On Tuesday afternoon, the mercury reached 46 degrees. On Thursday at 1 pm, the mercury reached 44 degrees which increased to 46 by 2 pm. On Saturday, the mercury reached 45 degrees. People are suffering due to the continuously increasing scorching heat.

On Wednesday afternoon, Meva Bind (64), a resident of Belu in the Gambhirpur police station area, went to see his farm, where he died in the field due to the intense heat.

The effect of Nautapa is visible in the district. On Friday, delivery man Srinarayan Srivastava (52) who used to do courier in the city police station also died. On the other hand, people of Kharevan in Saraimir police station area told that Mustak (65) who was a resident of village Arahia died due to the severe heat in the district. On Friday, the body of an old man was found near Semri village of Nizamabad police station.

The deceased was identified as Ram Asare (55), son of Jagdev Tahbarpur. On Friday, Vifai alias Vinod Sharma, a resident of Pawani village in the Atraulia police station area, also died of heat stroke.

On Friday too, the mercury reached 44 degrees. Lallan Vishwakarma (70), a resident of Jamin Muhammadpur in Gambhirpur police station area, died of heat stroke. Lallan Vishwakarma had been living in a house in Mohiuddinpur, Jamin Muhammadpur for about 35 years. His wife had died earlier.

There was no one in his house. A girl from the neighbourhood came to give him food in the afternoon and saw that he was lying down near the hand pump inside the house. She called out and called the neighbours who took him to a private hospital in Faridhan, where the doctor declared him dead.

Arun Kumar Tiwari (33), a resident of Tundwal village in Nizamabad police station area, died after a sudden fall. Arun Kumar Tiwari was standing near the temple near the crossing of Kapda village under Saraimir police station area and suddenly fell there. After this he died. After getting the information, the police took the body into custody. Nine people have died in the district in five days due to severe heat.

Due to the intense heat in the district, a fire broke out in the transformer of Sabzi Mandi situated at Chowk in Azamgarh on Wednesday night. Gradually, this fire reached the power supply cable. After which the cable started burning. Due to the burning of the transformer and cable, the power supply remained disrupted till late night. Due to which the normal life of the people became badly disrupted.

There is silence on the roads in the scorching sun and humid heat. A day before the scorching heat, four monkeys died after falling from a tree. Out of these, three monkeys died after falling from a tree near the Collectorate while one monkey died in the Chowk area.

Local people say that the way the temperature is constantly increasing, the life of animals and birds along with the common people is getting badly affected. This is the reason that these monkeys also died due to extreme heat. The situation is getting worse due to power cuts and low voltage.

Earlier, two unidentified old men died under suspicious circumstances in two police station areas. One old man was found dead in Mubarakpur police station area while the other was found dead in Phulpur police station area. Both could not be identified till late night. Foam was seen coming out of the mouths of both the old men.

Effect of Nautapa is visible

The effect of Nautapa that started on Saturday is also visible on Thursday. While the temperature on Tuesday was 46°C, the temperature may increase by 1°C on Wednesday. Today the maximum temperature is expected to reach 47°C. While the minimum will be 30°C.

During this time, the chances of heat wave will be less and the weather will remain humid. The wind speed will also be around 10-12km per hour. Actually, the sun is closest to the earth during Nautapa. This is the reason why the heat is very intense during this time.

Take Voltage increased the trouble

Due to low voltage, coolers, ACs and fans in the house stop working completely. This low voltage situation persists till late night and remains the same till 4 am. Whereas, the problem of power cuts has also increased in many areas of the city these days.
